i dont know from what country are you from, but i am from the Philippines and the only way you can go about your problem is to recover the password. Yes IBM will tell you that you need to replace the motherboard. I can do some recovery and i charge 60usd for the service but the problem is distance. shipping the laptop might be too expensive on your part.
