Subject: ibm thinkpad 365xd

Hello , glad to have found this forum. i have recently aquired a thinkpad laptop from ebay, it was supposed to be working but when i tried to fire it up no display. it beeps flashes the ibm logo then it goes black , i can hear it running. it works fine on a external moniter , i have tried fn and f7 to switch display but no luck obviousley the lcd has problems. my question is can it be repaired or will i need to replace it
i would love to hear from anyone who has had this problem
