Yes indeed, I've contacted COMPAQ three times via chat with there technical support. They recommended removal of the battery and using a debug routine, still with no success. All they can say is to go to an autorized Compaq service center for repairs. I understand that Laptops all secured by the use of an EEPROM chip. I have been in the IT business since 1985, but I admit EEPROM's is something I was not required to work with until now.
