Subject: VAIO turns off on boot. help!

Hi everyone. I have a sony vaio PCG-F305 laptop which when I turn it on, I get about 1 second of the hard disk starting, and I can eject the DVD in that second, but after that there is nothing. Everything shuts down, but the power light stays on. I have not changed any hardware or anything. Im gonna try and replace the CPU and possible powerboard. Any ideas anyone? Cheers
