Subject: Keyboard issues

I have a Toshiba 410cdt I am attempting to revive. While installing Win98 everything imaginable went wrong. I have been using system disks like the boot disk and the recovery utilities to get back to where I need to be for the remainder of the install. But wouldn't ya know it...as soon as I get there and it asks for a prompt of "D:\SETUP" the keyboard won't let me use those very specific rows of keys yet the rest of the keys work fine. I tried an external keyboard with no luck...where do I go from here?
