Subject: acer travelmate 730txv

This laptop shut down one day and would not restart. I opened it up and found a loose screw sitting near the motherboard and power supply. I tried starting it without the battery or hard drive or dvd drive and on battery alone. I left it for a week and just for fun plugged it in as the battery was dead and it booted up sweet as can be. As soon as you shut it down again it will not boot unless I leave it for 24 to 36 hours and let the battery die. When it doesn't start the power light comes on and a couple of small clicks are heard. Is this the power supply or a switching or charging mechanism that is buggered up? Any help would be really appreciated.

TKS Peter
