Subject: cracked TFT screen Thinkpad 240x

I own a thinkpad 240x and recently the TFT screen cracked. I was wondering if it is possible to buy another thinkpad(a cheaper one with a TFT screen) and just replace that one with the cracked one. If you can offer any advice at all as to getting a new TFT screen for a 240x then please help as in if the screen has to be TFT or not. I don't know anything about laptop screens so please help.
