You are right. While I didn't get to spend a lot of time with him, he did seem like a really nice guy. Always stopped to spend time talking to me and my family when we spoke to him.
And let's face it, when girls constantly throw themselves at these guys, it's not always the guy's fault. Yes, they could say no, but...well, I can't resist chocolate so I guess everyone has their weakness. (Although chocolate is technically a vegetable & good for you since it grows on a plant, as I keep telling my doctor ;) That's my theory and I'm sticking with it!
So, Mr. Bates, if you read these posts as indicated, I enjoyed getting to meet you and see you play in person with the ECHL MS Sea Wolves.. My only complaint is that when YOU could have overpowered the goalie and got the puck in, you stopped short and waited for lil bro Anthony to catch up and pass to him. Altho I give you the benefit of the doubt in that you may have been told to not grandstand and to make sure everyone got a chance at shooting the puck. Anyway, it was a chance of a lifetime for us to get not 1 but 2 NHL players on our team. (goalie Phil Sauvé of NHL Av's & Flames, and currently of San Antonio Rampage AHL.) Both very nice guys. Phil's fiancée is VERY pretty and sooo nice to talk to. Not snobby at all, just shy and since French is her first language, she's timid about speaking English, espicially way down here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Can't wait to see live hockey again! Our arena was smashed by Katrina, but our team has signed a contract for the place for 07-08 season. Thank God!!!! I NEED to de-stress and screaming at refs is a good way to do it.
