In reply to: RickHenry 's message, "Notes on Karen's unreleased solo tracks" on 23:41:18 03/22/03 Sat

It's a nightmare trying to find this information but I can tell you that Paul Jabara wrote "Somethings Missing" and according to the A&M Press Release in 1979 concerning Karens solo project, Paul wrote at least two songs for the Solo Album.

Rod Temperton wrote "Lovelines" & "If We Try" but apparently wrote several tracks for the album

Paul Simon wrote "Still Crazy After All These Years" and I believe he also wrote "I Do It For Your Love"

Peter Cetera wrote "Makin' Love In The Afternoon" but I am unsure if he is directly connected to "Love Makin' Love To You" or not

Thats as much as I know at the moment - still searching for info though - I'll keep ya posted if anything else turns up

That's interesting to hear Paul Jabara wrote a few songs for Karen. I liked some of the work he did for the movie "Thank God It's Friday" which starred Donna Summer.

I've heard that Olivia Newton- John provided background vocals on "Don't Try To Win Me Back Again."

I have a 7" single from "Thank God It's Friday" by Paul Jabara called "Trapped In A Stairway". It's quite a lightweight disco song - not my favorite from the soundtrack. Although Donna Summer's "Last Dance" is one of the greats of all-time. Paul Jabara wrote "Last Dance".

I must admitt that "Don't Try To Win Me Back Again" is very much a song in Olivia's style. I have always thought so and could imagine it alongside her other tracks on the fantastic album "Totally Hot" (My Favourite O.N.J Album).

I was not aware that Olivia may be on the backing vocals. That is interesting.

Thsong itself is has a deeply sad meaning and having been in that situation, I shudder to think what the writer must have gone through to find the inspiration for such chilling lyrics "A Lost Love who is lost all over again and a heart that cannot take any further pain"

I have never seen the movie "Thank God It's Friday". May have to try and rent it sometime

My favorite Olivia album was "Don't Stop Believing", it included ofcourse the title song and "Every Face Tells A Story" and "Sam". As much as I enjoyed Olivia, Anne Murray, Helen Reddy and others in the 70's Karen always remained my favorite.

I remember when I first heard Olivia's "A Little More Love". It was great, it had an edge to it. I went out and bought it right away.
