Just like I JUST FALL IN LOVE AGAIN, in the 1977 album Passage was included too Don't Cry For Me Argentina, an UK top-10 single in feb. 1979 by Shadows.
Maybe Richard thinked: it was an UK #1 single in feb. 1977 by Julie Covington and our version won't go anywhere...
Can't Smile Without You was included in the 1976 album AKOH, but the Barry Manilow version in 1978 was a top-10 single in the US hit parade.
I'LL NEVER FALL IN LOVE AGAIN was an UK top-10 single by Bobby Gentry in oct.1969, it was an US top-20 single by Tom Jones in sept. 1969 and it was too an US top-20 hit by Dionne Warwick in feb. 1970( why not another hit by Carpenters too? )
REASON TO BELIEVE appeared in the 1970 album CTY, however, it was a great hit, along with Maggie May, in oct. 1971 by Rod Stewart (#1 single for 5 weeks).
GET TOGETHER was included in the album TTR released in oct. 1969. But a month before, it had been a top-10 hit by Youngbloods (sept. 1969).
Should the Carpenters have chosen this single instead of TTR?(Of course, the Karen version).
