I'd say the Carpenters songs which evoke the most emotions for me are:
NOW - Karen's reading is so emotional. I listen to the song and the words and it brings feelings to me which just don't stop.

TRYIN' TO GET THE FEELING AGAIN - This is one of the best written songs of alltime. Karen's voice is so full of soul AND yearning on this one.

THIS MASQUERADE - This is ultimately my favorite Carpenters song. Richard's arrangement is absolutely amazing and Karen's voice contains mystery and deep emotion.

I also think EVE is an amazing song.

I forgot to mention a last sad song:Nowhere Man.
What a painful, dark and melancholic song!!!!
Karen gives a really low note at the end of the song.
And she was only 17 years old.....
