A lot of people are so overwhelmed by that VOICE that they all wanted to sound like Karen. Here, in Manila, we have a Karen Carpenter of the Philippines. Her name is Claire dela Fuente. She was very popular in the late seventees. She is also very open to the fact that she imitates karen's voice and that she is a die hard Karen fan. There was even a rumour right after karen;'s death that Richard was scouting for a new lead singer. Reportedly, a local record executive brought Claire dela Fuente's tapes to Richard, listened to Claire singing Love Me for What I Am (a huge hit here), upon hearing the tape, Richard cried....Years later, he was supposed to have a concert here, with a local artist doin the vocals, but the concert was cancelled. It was already anticipated by a lot of people at that, but it didnt pushed through...Too bad
