I agree the Carpenters are overdue for inclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. They really have had a huge amount of influence on many people in many genres. People who don't even care for their genre of music like the Carpenters. I wrote songs and sang in an alt-rock group throughout the 80's and 90's I always considered the Carpenters an influence.
Does anybody know how to contact the R&R Hall Of Fame? Maybe if enough of us contact them we may be able to convince them.
