Accurate reels are not too bad.

Newells were created with throwing jigs in mind. Except for the most part, they are not good. They free-spool great (casting), they have a very high retrieve ratio (retrieval), but pray to God Almighty that you don't get bite, because the things explode, alot. I once saw three newells explode on one 8-day trip.

The one experience that i have with an accurate reel was on that same 8-day trip. This one guy was having trouble with the handle on his accurate. I took the reel down into the engine room and fixed it, twice, but to no avail. He had to go get it replaced.

If i were to recommend a reel... PENN. You can't go wrong with a Penn, take you choice as to which one you feel most comfortable with, that is half the battle.
