SIR, I own 11 PRO GEARS had on one of thee first.Honest injuin- this works.first take apart,apply lots of salt-x 2 or three times allow to dry each time(2hours or so)Next buy PROLONG grease (tube for grase gun)cost about 10-13.00 at Kragen or any good auto parts store.Get rag and rub it in all over any part you can get to let the reel sit over night---wipe off excess.now your your water and salt repellent! dont forget the screws and sockets add grease before assembly--this works wonders-and lasts for about 250 years. best wishes.
