Fine. OK, since nobody's about...the chat room remained empty except for poor little ol' moi from about 10:30 till 1:00! GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

So, since nobody showed up, I figure I can inflict some of my poetry on you, right?! LOL

This is inspired by Truly Madly Deeply, which I shall again recommend very very highly...Alan Rickman is of course fabulous in it, but it's also just a fine film that touches me deeply. Anyway, what happens is that (according to the synopsis on the DVD cover)

Nina (Juliet Stevenson), a charming, warm-hearted young woman, is dealing with the sudden death of her beloved husband, Jamie. Just when she can no longer bear the pain of her loss, Jamie (Alan Rickman) suddenly appears in her living room - back from the dead! At first his presence in her life seems too good to be true, but when Nina unexpectedly meets Mark (Michael Maloney), a part-time magician and full-time good guy who turns her world upside down, Nina is faced with the ultimate decision. Will she hold on to her past? Or let her new love guide her into the future?

Anyway...it's a beautiful, bittersweet film...and this is just the latest bit of poetry it's inspired. From Jamie's POV:

For Nina

The most painful thing
knowing the cost, and yet
helping her through

her pain...I couldn't bear it...
I couldn't let her bear it further...
to let her go...to let her live
all that I could do...I did for her love

Now I bear the pain, but knowing that she lives
will be enough...

*************

Well...hope you enjoyed it! I'm still crying! See ya later!
