Hmmmm...I'm sure Alan would make a great Rochester, but Ciaran still remains my favorite. Then again no one could replace Alan as Brandon, though I'm sure Ciaran would have done pretty well with the part. :)

I think Alan would have done well with Michael Henshard, (excuse spelling) the title character in The Mayor of Casterbridge. The story/movie was very well done, but it is somewhat depressing, which I've found Thomas Hardy novels tend to be. Ciaran did wonderful with the role, but it wasn't one of my favorite parts for him. I am very character driven, and if I had seen him in this first he wouldn't be among my favorite actors. Same would go for Joe in Devil's Bed, Viggo in Perfect Murder and Albino Alligator, and most likely Alan in one of his roles. I tend to favor the more upstanding characters such as Donald Warfare (think that's it) and Elizabeth Jane in TMOC.
