Thank you for that...

It was a blessing that I got to be there at the end. When Sherlock died, I was called into the vet's office to "talk about Sherlock"...I didn't even get to see him. We also didn't know that we could have had him cremated and perhaps kept his ashes as a memorial...it's possible the service wasn't available [affordably] at the time in my area, but we were so shocked and numb, that we didn't know to ask. With Suzy, we took her to a local funeral home that also handles pets, and she will be cremated and we will take home her ashes in a box inscribed with her name and dates. I'm sure it was better for your cat and my dog that we were able to be there. It did bring me some comfort, and I'm glad she waited till after the concerts...

I'd better stop here before I start rambling and crying [again]!
