Inspired by thoughts I don’t understand
yet my Lord I must admit that I want to go
For with you my God I have overcame so much
avoided dangers and snares I’ll never know
From a wayward child, known as a heathen
to a voice that gives you praise
From smoking dope, profanity, and getting drunk
yes, I have done this all in my days

For with weary hands I lift to you
a praise that I know ain’t quite right
With a voice that’s hoarse I say Hallelujah
but not as loud as I partied last night

On this fence I rest myself in fear
cause the knowledge has already been shared
That I must choose the Lord or the streets
not much longer would my life be spared

So on this day I pray to you again
and I hope that it gets through somehow
For I am not sure if you hear prayers of sinners
but I know that you will give ear to your child
