The 8500 is a versatile computer. There're lots of upgrade options. You can;

1) Put in plenty of storage with its spare 5 1/4" bays - if it is not filled up already. If in case you'd want to use inexpensive ATA hard disks, then plug in a PCI ATA adapter card into one of the 3 PCI slots. CD Writer is also an option if this card is used.

2) It can take in 8 x 128MB giving you about 1Gig of RAM.

3) The 3 PCI slots will allow you to put in a USB adapter, Firewire adapter or even an optional video card in case you want to drive another monitor for 2 separate desktops - great for people doing Photoshop or DTP work.

4) If the stock processor seems a little outdated, you could swap the processor daughter card with one containing a G3 or G4 processor.

There are a lot of resources for the 8500 on the net. Try www.lowendmac.com for a start.
