I am of the opinion that the betting shop is best left where it is now. To have it on that corner would indeed lower standards in the area.
We have a marvellous little precinct and to have a betting shop in such a prime location would be awful.
We do not need another betting shop, nor another hairdressers either!! I would like to see it used as another retail outlet that would fit into village life!

It is my understanding that the existing bookie shop has applied for planning and will move to the precinct.
I agree with Cyfrin, but I think we need to be more positive. Yes lets keep the precint more retail orientated, but what does Killay need? Any Ideas?

If I was in better health I would love to open a pet shop there! Not selling live pets of course, but everything that a dog or cat may need!! I have even chosen the name....and would include other pet items (like hamster stuff etc) if required.
However I will not be able to, so other than a pet shop I'd like to see a sports shop, selling reasonably priced fishing tackle, and other country sports type stuff.

Or maybe a shop for mums with children under 5.

No fast food, as this would create an enormous amount of litter.

I do hope the existing Bookies does not get planning permission!
