Subject: auto pilot for TM36

Has anyone installed auto pilot on a TM36 with cable steering?
Will a wheel mounted system work?

Yes, & Yes.

We installed a Raymarine wheelpilot on SANDPIPER. It is integrated with all the other the Raymarine products and works well. Just be sure you size it so as to handle the type of sailing you anticipate. There are some smaller units out there that are well priced but are sure to disappoint.

We installed a Raymarine Wheelpilot 4000. It is Ok for the sailing we do. But, I believe it would be too light for heavy off shore duty. gs
