Subject: Eye Bolt Specs

Has anyone replaced the eye bolt at the bobstay/waterline on the M31s? I was wondering how long the bolt shank was? Thanks Mark

Hey Mark,

Murre has a bobstay tang rather than an eye bolt and I replaced it back in 2003. It was corroded all the way through.

I took a photo, but didn't measure it (I'm a slow learner), but Bruce recently replaced his and reports that it's 4 inches long.

See photo.

I couldn't find it anywhere so I did order it from France . Actually WestMarine did order it for me and it did cost me about $ 70.00

Accidentally I did find an eye bolt in a rigging service store in southern Annapolis that is the right size 1/2" X 6 " .
You can contact Mike Meer 410 626 6060 Southbound cruising services . I did take a card from .

Just replaced these bolts on my M31. there were three bolts, none eyebolts, but I believe they were 5-6 inches long. Don't know if they were original.
Sincerely,
Lyle Harris

Cactus Tree is hauled out and in dry storage in San Carlos Mexico.
When I go back down in August, I'm going to get rid of the eyebolt. It's perfect for catching the Mexican fishermens longline gear, Got hung up in it for times one day near Banderas Bay.
One less thing to deal with.
Doug.
