On Guillemot, I learned, there is a small 1/4" line that runs from the top of the injection elbow (water side) to a point above the (non-vented) exhaust loop and exits into the cockpit with a continued small line to just above the cockpit drain.

With the engine running, it provides for a tell-tale stream of water into the drain, verifying water flow through the engine; with the engine off, it allows air to flow back and prevents a vacuum from building, or syphoning action from occurring...

With the exhaust located out of sight, I believe this is a good alternate to verify water flow.

it works very well on SANDPIPER.

It is very useful in confirming the engine cooling is functioning at least to this level. We have had NO TROUBLE with it. Dunno why it isn't seen more often
