Subject: Raw Water Strainer

Has anyone installed a raw water strainer on their perkins (or any other engine, for that matter). Was checking them out at WestMarine the other day and the ones that appear to match my hose size are monsters.

I'd be curious to see/hear of strainer installs on Mariners.

I don't think I've ever worked on or owned a boat that didn't have strainers.
If you mail me, I'll send a picture of the one on Cactus Tree, it's kind of a standard size. I can't post pics here for some reason.

Hey Randall, my M31 came with an "older" Perko 493. They're smaller and take a bit more time to clear, but I like it. Probably measures 8" to 10" in height.
