Subject: Water Tank "switches"

Am about to circle back to the water tank augmentation job.

Will be adding a couple small tanks under the port settee, this in addition to the large one on the starboard side.

I’d like to install a “distribution switch” near the galley sink. That is, I’d like to feed the outlet hoses from the three water tanks into one valve that will let me control which tank feeds water to the faucets.

But I’m not finding such hardware on the Westmarine site or that of Jamestown. Can help? The boat has one (old, no name brand) for the bilge puppy, so I know they’re made.

Hey Randall, What type of tanks are you going to end up using. I not sure what kind of switch your looking for but this web site has most any kind of PVC fitting you'd need, http://pvcfittings.com/

Still not decided on the tanks. I'm struggling to find the right shape/dimensions. I want a tank under the port settee, but both my depth sounder and knot log are positioned more or less in the middle of the area. They essentially cut the space in half and define the length of tank I can fit. So, it will probably be two, one fore and one aft of these through hulls, of about 10 gallons each. Off the shelf plastic. I just haven't found quite the right fit yet. Will let you know when ordered.

That's a good link. I want to run each of my three water tanks back to one "three way valve" in the galley. I can piece that together from hardware on that site. Thanks.

RR
