ANYONE KNOW IF THE RUDDER SHAFT SEAL, A STAINLESS STEEL RING AROUND RUBBER, CAN BE REPLACED WHILE IN THE WATER? ...OR DO I HAVE TO HAUL OUT?

I beleive that is above waterline , so there is no problem.
Just in case tie the ruder shaft. If the piece that hold it at the bottom of the keel is broken or corroded the rudder will end at the bottom of the drink.

I have replace most of the gatevalves and the packing from stuffing box while in the water. Probably i got half gallon of water inside while I was replacing the old with the new gatevalves but that is nothing.
