Subject: Replacing portlights on TM36

ok, I did my due diligence... first stop was Minney's. After that, the MOA archives, looking for info on simply replacing a couple (no new projects, please lord...) of my aging PYHI portlights on my TM36, Luna Blanca. Does anyone have any recent (5-10 yrs ;-) experience replacing these?

I checked the Bomar website, but the information, especially the spare parts page, was so cryptic that it was difficult to know what was being described.

Anyway, if you have any suggestions as to things like part numbers, merchants, ect.. it would be much appreciated.

For some reason I can't see Gene's link. Did you ever find replacements?

For any how-to information on the Tayana Mariners you should really join the Tayana Owner's Group at:
http://groups.google.com/group/tognews.
Although the Mariners are the sort of "bastard sons" of the Tayana built fleet, most of the construction, hardware, and problems are found on all of the Tayana built boats. They are an extremely knowlegable group with incredible archives. I enjoy the Mariner site, but with 300+ Tayana boats cruising the world, this active group has continually answered most of my questrions.

......the Mariners are the sort of "bastard sons" of the Tayana built fleet ?????

Thems are fightin' words :-)

Just for the record...."Tayana didn't even exist when Mariners were already crossing oceans".

As far as Far East boat building goes, the Mariners are the fathers AND mothers of all. They are so damn good that Tayana HAD to have the molds for the 36.

Nuff said.....Happy New Year :-)
