Subject: Replacing M31 doghouse wall plywood with foam board?

My M31 #42, Greywolf had a nasty leak, and proving showed the cabin sides were very rotted around the windows and portlights. I grabbed a multi-tool and began cutting away spongy plywood, and ended up taking out the entire starboard wall, leaving only the thin fiberglass skin in place. I'd like to epoxy a couple layers of glass cloth with a foam core to make new walls. any Opinion? I'm not sure how structural these walls are, but at one time they were 1" plywood. Thanks,

Hi
I'm not sure how I got to it. But there is a way to search boat projects that were done a long time ago. I know the aft starboard side of my cabin was replaced. They completely cutout and glassed a new piece in. It was a very good job. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply Brian. I've looked at some of the project files, and complete rebuild work that Randall and others have done. there's a lot to be said for a complete tear down to the frame and replacing with new Okume marine ply. But... I'm wanting to do a faster job and be ready to sail again in a couple weeks. Seems that using structural foam board will allow me to get good strength, maintain the existing exterior, and get back to sailing.
