Thanks Mark, I thought of that but wondered how it would work. Did you glue the two pieces 1/2 inch with anything special?

I've always used WEST epoxy, (it was all I could find in the early days). My pics show the starboard side open. I used a router to lap a joint on the cabin side, then fit the two (epoxy encased) ply's and epoxy them together upon fastening.
