Subject: White tips

How far down the masts should the white tips go? I was thinking about 20% of the length of the mast. Any suggestions?

Craig

Craig,
I just measured the white tops on my masts, easy as they're hanging on the wall in my shop, and they are-
Main 23.25 and mizzen 19.25. I can't tell you if that's original but that's what mine are.

Thanks Dan,
We went with 15% of the mast length. depending on the weather we're about a week out from restepping them.

I painted mine within arm's reach while standing on the spreaders. I think it looks pretty symmetrical and makes it easier to re-varnish each year.
