Subject: Transom name/port plates

I am back home from my 15 months in Iraq and the boat projects are well underway. I am trying to find out where I can get the wooden name-plates, that many of you have, to mount on my transom. this is a federally doc'd. boat so I will need to meet the size requirements for letter size. I looked into making them but it would be more of a project then I expected with the curve the transom has. Thanks guys. -Parker

I believe they were original equipment with the boats. If I understand the regulations, they will not allow for legal size names and especially hailing ports. I'm not sure how important the size is or whether there are exceptions to the rule. Making new ones seems like a prohibitive project either from a cost or difficulty view.
