Subject: Mariner 40 Bobstay

What material is the "bobstay" constructed of, wire or a solid material, how long is it? And, how far out does the rod come and is it solid or hollow? Thanks for you help!

I am rebuilding ours as we speak. We have a SS hollow tube, it is a heavy walled tube. The end attached to the bow has a solid SS plug with course threads that screw into a fitting that is thru bolted to the bow. The rod is a little under 3 feet long. If you want a picture and actual measurements I will have it back from the welders this weekend and I can send you some pics and measurements.

Thank you so much...we were at a loss. We would love to see your pics and have any additional measurements, if you don't mind. Our pics are a ways off in terms of progress but we would love to share with you as well, so we can make this rebuid perfect. Please e-mail us at troendlemarine@aol.com. Take care.
Bill
