White oak will be stronger than the original teak and also heavier. It is more rot prone than teak, so that might be of some concern. The originals probably rotted out due to moisture getting in between the glass used to hold them to the hull and the posts themselves. If you make sure to seal well between the socket and the post you should have no problem. Keep in mind that while the oak is more rot prone than teak, the originals lasted for 30+ yrs and white oak will be good for at least half that even if the seal is not perfect.
