Subject: OLDTIMER IS CONFUSED AT TEEN RESULTS

GEEZ...I did so well in Miss to have really missed the boat in Teens!

For the life of me, I will never understand how Tiffany Cannon, Bobbi Bishop, Blake Fraum, and Jessica Hayes Did NOT make the top twelve.

Scoring is EQUAL between ss, eg, and interview. With five judges, the most votes you get is a total of 15 (3 from each judge). Top 12 vote getters advance.

These four should have received a circle in swimsuit AND evening gown. I actually gave a circle AND a star for those I considered in top of each category (I do this because it simplifies things when eliminating girls after viewing 100 of them!.) I scored them as follows:

Bobbi Bishop: circle in each (probably deserved a star in SS, but I "held back" as most judges do. Wrap turned me off)
Tiffany Cannon: circle in each with a star in SS
Blake Fraum: circle in each with a star in SS
Jessica Hayes: circle in each with a star in EG.

Doing the math (which is fairly easy) ASSURES these girls a spot in the top twelve even if they BOMB their personal interview.

I am concerned this happened and confused about how to keep it from happening again.

I had NOT noticed the placement of these girls (first 25) until I read an earlier post today. I do believe Meg Morris was victim to being first out in the Miss top twelve. (Imagine having that kind of luck two years in a row!) First outs ALWAYS have to overcome the obstacle of a judge "holding back" or "scoring up" for later contestants. First called MUST have a flawless performance or they fall prey to this well known curse.

I'm not sure what went wrong in the teen. These girls were MORE THAN OBVIOUSLY deserving of their points and a placement. (same as Posey, Dickens, and Zais last year for top five)

Even though my first post reveals I thought Sporrer was a major contender...(she was BREATHTAKING!!!!) I feel we have missed the boat yet again. Ashley Zais is exactly what Teen USA is looking for. I believe Sporrer will do well at USA, but recent years have proven that a younger "fresh" image is what wins. I hope Ashley doesn't change ONE THING or age any...and that she can have the heart and courage to come back. Maybe the third time will be the charm. (Of course by then, nationals will be back to a glamourous "Miss look" and we will be kicking ourselves!)

Even with Paula calling her out first, Sporrer overcame the curse, and WON! She set the standard and it WAS perfection. I applaud her and wish her the best.

Now..., can someone please tell me what happened with these others?
