The city (council)of Lubbock should be ashamed that this is happening, as should all Texans.

I think the only way to preserve that artistic tribute would be to have it moved indoors, either at the Buddy Holly Centre, or the new Centre for performing arts.

Encasing it or putting it behind plexi would only encourage graffiti and worse.

I honestly thought Holly had connected sufficiently with each new generation that such garbage would not happen to his legacy. I sincerely hope the damage being done is not in any way being justified by any of the legitimate causes
and movements for social change.

Things are getting so bad that this should not be too much of a shock, but it certainly is incredibly disheartening.
