 I was under the impression that the Holley family didn't want the Christmas footage used in any documentaries.

I'm not a superfan, so I don't know all the details. I thought the film was only shown privately by Mr. Griggs to friends he hosted.

I saw both versions of the BBC/McCartney documentary and didn't see the Christmas footage. Both versions featured Ritchie Valens home movies, though. I thought I'd seen just about every documentary out there about Holly & the Crickets.

I didn't know the Buddy Holly home movies were included in any TV specials. This is news to me.
