 I also remember reading at the time that the back up (analogue) copies AND digital master were also stored in the same place !
What idiots

Clearly no disaster recovery plan like we had to have when I was at work far back in the 70s and 80 even ..........
i.e. copies of everything needed to carry on working had to be held off site.

But now that many people don't even listen on anything like hi fi equipment, just a little mono speaker or earphones I don't think they care about quality at all ....... so maybe it doesn’t matter as far as Universal are concerned (?)


Norman let Steve Hoffman take THE ORIGINAL tapes back to "Decca" with him.

I've no idea WHICH original tapes (all, or just some ?) but what Norman eventually got back, also confirmed by Vi,
was copies.

They were on a different brand of tape .............
