Subject: Song influenced By Buddy, not cover versions of his songs

 I'm asking for songs that were obviously inspired by Buddy's
melodic sense and rhythmic style, but not cover versions of songs Buddy actually recorded.One of the best and most obvious early such song is Sheilaby Tommy Roe. There are several others from the 1960's,often from U.K. bands. Buddy's Song and Tribute To Buddy Holly are also classics. I'm hoping for submissions that evoke the spirit of Buddy, but don't have to simulate his style exactly.Extra credit goes to anyone who knows a good but much more modern candidate.
I suggest these to begin...
The original is great, but check out the 1978 Blondie version of "Denis". Livin' For Your Lover by Chris Isaak,
and Deborah by Dave Edmunds are also fab, as is Almost
Saturday Night by John Fogerty. I realise 2 of those 4
(and Sheila)borrow heavily from Peggy Sue, but that drum beat is not a requirement. Further off the beaten path is a great tune from Roky Erickson called Starry Eyes.

Thanks to all in advance, I hope to find some cool songs I have not yet heard.
