Gerry Granahan, lead singer of Dickey Do And The Don'ts passed away on January 10 2022, according to AM radio station WPRO Providence. Dickey Do and The Don'ts toured with Alan Freed's biggest show of stars, with Buddy Holly and The Crickets. The show went to Boston on or about May 3 1958, where some unruly fans caused a riot which caused the show to be stopped! On or about May 4 1958 the show played here in Providence R.I. without incident. Gerry Granahan once sang by himself at a small resturaunt called Tommys Clam Shack of Warwick, R.I. The owner of Tommy's Clam Shack had a daughter who Gerry eventully married. Mary Lou Kiernan, Gerry's wife was an entertainer in her own right and when one of the singing group The Angels left, Gerry was able to get Mary Lou to became one of The Angels. Gerry Granahan was scheduled to sing lead on the song he produced "You were Mine" with the Fireflies, however he was so very busy in the music business, he opted out and let Richie Adams do the lead for the hit song.
