The new Elvis movie may be good or it may be bad, but it won't be boring.

I have a question for the guitar experts here: Are Elvis's guitars in the new trailer historically accurate? Did the filmmakers avoid the mistakes of Steve Rash in the Buddy Holly Story?


As far as the new Buddy Holly "Clear Lake" movie goes, I suspect this will never go into production. The budget seems really low for a major motion picture. Only four cast members have been announced. The project is top heavy with producers; more producers than actors at this point. The screenwriter is not a person with a long track record. The director had a hit many years ago but nothing recently.

I understand covid delayed many projects, but other films have moved forward. For example, I've seen photos from a new movie about Brian Epstein and the early Beatles. And of course the trailer for the new Elvis movie. But nothing seems to be happening with this Buddy Holly film.

Colin Hanks would have made a great Norman Petty. Here he is portraying Mr. Rogers in the "Drunk History" comedy show:
