Thank you for your tribute Randy, I knew Bill from 1986 through his magazines and books and finally got to meet him in September 1991.
They say you should never meet your heroes but this was an exception to the rule, he was not only a master of his subject but highly intelligent and well informed on most of the things that interested me also.
He also had a wicked sense of humour that I fell foul of on several occasions lol
My favourite memories of Bill are still very much on my mind and it is hard to think he is not here but I am thankful for the good times we had.
The 4 days we spent showing him around the sites in England are still fresh in my memory and in particular our wonderful trips to Stonehenge and the maritime Museum in Southampton
I am blessed to have many photographs of his visit here and my visits to him in Lubbock and will treasure them always
Thank you for your tribute and your beautiful eulogy to Bill at his funeral that I watched on video recently.
Take care
Chris
