Hi

2 highly recommended documentaries that I have knowledge
of each took more than 7 years to complete.

Jingle Bell Rocks! is a very special bio-doc that covers the alternative side of Christmas record collecting and much more.
It was a full seven years in the making.

Sample This! is a very interesting journey to the beginning of hip hop and rap, and explains their roots in one obscure tune. Also 7 plus years.

The champ is "The Wrecking Crew", all about the mega importance to our pop culture of the L.A. session players
circa 1958 to 1976. I consider it must viewing for all fans of oldies rock. This gem endured a 14 year journey from first filmed scenes to final cut for DVD release.

My hope for the winter dance party doc is that it gets everything RIGHT, and honours the memory of both Waylon and Tommy when discussing the coin toss.

Their historically documented telling of the course of that evening discounts that of Dion to such a degree that I see no need for them to offer an "alternate" telling of the events.

I am willing to wait a while for a first class effort, on par with the three I mentioned above.

For no fee, and just a name and email address, you can watch Jingle Bell Rocks here, but only to Jan. 15th:

remember to cut and paste only the section beginning with www and ending with the s in the word rocks.
