 My mum bought the single of "Heartbeat" b/w "Everyday" to go with my birthday present of a record player, a little Perpetuum Ebner in red and beige. It was my first record of my very own. It wasn't my favourite, but mum knew I was a Holly fan so just picked something at random!
I wonder if Petty actually did any writing on the song. It was common practice in those days that enablers took credits: producers and arrangers, stars who could make things happen, Shakespeare etc. etc. I even sold a share in a song I'd written that someone I knew wanted to record, and he put his name on it.
Nothing came of it, in case you're wondering.
