In reply to: Richard 's message, "Tommy Allsup guitar" on Mon June 10, 2019 11:51:27

Is it necessary for the guitar to be repaired before it is displayed in the museum?

If it will only be displayed for musical history purposes, and not played, why should it be repaired? (I'm assuming here it wasn't mangled beyond recognition.)

If it was damaged while in Tommy's possession, then maybe its current condition could be considered part of history?

I'm amazed that local shops would be so callous as to say "strip it for spare parts!" Were they unaware who the guitar belonged to?

But why not display the guitar "as is" ?
