 I wonder if one of the reasons Buddy chose him for the tour was Carl's easygoing nature. By the time of the winter tour, maybe Buddy had a "no drama" preference when it came to bandmates.

Waylon was a close friend, and agreeable. Tommy didn't have a big ego. And Carl was an all around nice guy.
