I love Jim Croce, and I feel like his story is closer to Buddy's than most other rock 'n' roll tragedies.

They both came across as really nice guys with good values, they valued their families, and they wrote great songs. Both of them died at what were most likely pivotal points in their careers. Buddy died on a tour that he wasn't particularly keen to be on, and Croce died on what was potentially his last tour before he would get off the road to switch to being primarily a studio artist so that he could spend more time with his young family.

Their deaths are two of the most tragic in music history. Personal circumstances aside -- significant as they are -- they both had so much more to offer as artists.
