*** Ritchie Valens was on the WDP tour, and the producer mentioned Hispanic artists also. ***
Yes, I'm aware that he mentioned Hispanics. But that still does not negate the fact that there were integrated rock and roll tours before the WDP. Obviously, if the producers aren't aware of that, or are trying to make a mixed ethnicity tour something "groundbreaking", or exclusive to the WDP, they're sadly mistaken.
And as I said in my previous post, who were the Black performers that were supposed to be on the WDP? The producer said there were some... My question is: Who were they, because there were none that I'm aware of.
Also, wasn't Ritchie Valens on Alan Freed's Christmas show in 1958, or am I mistaken on that? Because if he was, Alan Freed's show had White, Black, and a Hispanic with Ritchie, so that right there shows there were integrated shows *before* the WDP.
It sounds like the producer is doing some revisionist history or something, making it seem like the WDP was this great, groundbreaking tour... Kind of like those Beatles nuts who claim The Beatles are responsible for everything that ever happened in music, even though a lot of it was around before they ever came on the scene.
