I sure hope you are able to recall exactly what TV doc
did have the Xmas film, or a small portion.

The main McCartney documentary was shown on television and released on DVD as "the real Buddy Holly Story", that begins with Paul playing That'll Be The Day on acoustic guitar and spinning the acetate of the Quarry Men version (or pretending to). This doc is an extended re-edit of an original BBC
"Arena" episode, which had no narrator, allowing the folks being interviewed to tell the story in their own words.

This "original" version can still be seen on youtube.

I have seen this documentary many times, in both configurations, and I can not recall anything that looks like Christmas home movie footage.
