Don't fret Dan.

just because a suggested topic may not be original, that does
not make it less than interesting.

Way back in the 80's, when the first inductees to the rock n roll hall of fame were announced, they dealt with this problem by nominating an original 10 performers, all of whom could easily be considered for a spot on a "rock Rushmore".

Just as the long time debate over the first record that can truly be called rock and roll, the question of the most important early rockers is always going to be largely subjective, and not quantifiably scientific.
